Safe and not all that painful. I had my first treatment with the Candela GentleLase Alexandrite Laser yesterday with no topical anesthetic and it was mildly painful in the labial region.

Suprisingly to me, it was far more painful (distinct ouch feeling) on the lower abdomen region and the smattering of hairs I have on my inner thighs. The RN operating the laser said that that is typical.

I've had Brazilians for many years and regard them as more painful than the laser. I'm getting laser because the waxing has thinned many hairs to the point that I get seriously ingrown hairs in that region.

I'm not a doctor, but I consulted family members who are dermatologists as well as my GYN and dermatologist and they said that as long as I chose a reputable place that had the laser done by an RN/MD that used one of the 'good' lasers it was safe.

I'm blogging a bit tongue-in-cheek about my waxing experience and will have a new post every Friday as "Friday Fur Blogging" on my blog: twochinchillas.blogspot.com My first post is here: http://twochinchillas.blogspot.com/2...-blogging.html
