How does laser treatment affect your skin if you have acne?

It probably depends on the severity of the acne. If there is a lot of inflammation I would think that the laser treatment would make things worse.

I really don't know. But I would think that it might aggravate it. But I would ask before having it done.

Well they use laser treatment to reduce the visibility of acne scars. But, they may need to wait until the acne is no longer active. If I had active acne, I would seek treatment for the acne first and see if I could get it under control before I worried about the scars.

My acne has only started occuring since I began going throught the change. I did not have acne this bad whenever I was a teenager, and I truly do not understand it.

I guess that any sort of hormonal change can set acne off. It's most frustrating when you're no longer a teenager though!

Yes, I know what you mean. I have never had true acne, but my skin isn't as clear as it used to be. I can always tell when it's that time of the month, because a few days before my skin breaks out. Luckily it goes away quickly. That didn't happen to me when I was a teenager either.

As a teenager I had acne, and nothing seemed to really help. But as I got older it went away. And have had no more problems with it.

I wonder if the acidity of the skin changes when estrogen levels drop off? It could be why pimples happen with greater frequency. Maybe bacteria doesn't have to fight as hard to get established and create inflammation.
