Question How do you know a provider is good or not?

What are the best methods in finding out if a provider is good or not?
How do you research if the clinic you are thinking of using is good for you?

I would first see if any of my friends have had the surgery done, and see if they liked it. You can't get much more security then a recommendation for a friend. If I didn't have that option I would go and look around online and see what I found. I'm sure there's lots of places that review different places. I could also go to forums and see what people there liked.

I would actually post the name of the clinic here on this forum and see if anybody has ever been there or heard about it. Then, you could see if it is right for you or not.

I would do a few different things. Go to the companie's website or try to find a brochure about them, and do research, get prices etc. Then ask around and see what people think of the company. You can also post it on here to see if anyone's heard of it.

Thanks everyone for this information. I was going to ask the same thing. Is there a forum to post sites on? Maybe a forum with catergories by state would be good.

Thanks,
Val

Can anyone recommend a clinic in California? I haven't a clue where to start and don't want to just start posting all the clinics from the phone book.

Thanks, Kim

There should also have, in your city or state government, a program that records when a center has been reported by unhappy customers for any number of reasons. If you called your city hall and ask they could most likely give you that info.

Good point Molly. The business has to be registered and most places also have a Better Business Bureau or something similiar that can be checked. I think I'd also ask for references from other customers.

Isn't there a way you can check Dr's out online? Also checking with the BBB on the place you want to go might show something if there has been problems.

Word of mouth is basically a good way. Look for licensing - whether a licensed dermatologist,or a licensed cosmetic surgeon, etc.
