Dec. 1--AUSTIN, Texas -- Laser hair removal specialists went to court Tuesday to halt attempts by medical doctors to corner their growing and lucrative business and perhaps force 3,000 Texans out of jobs.
The technicians filed a request for a temporary restraining order in Travis County District Court to halt a new rule redefining laser hair removal as the "practice of medicine." The rule takes effect today, but the plaintiffs are hoping to get an immediate hearing.
