VAIL VALLEY, COLO. - Light-colored, thin hair is the bane of laser hair removal, but the careful selection of equipment and parameters can help, Dr. Christine C. Dierickx and Dr. Eliot F. Battle Jr. said in separate presentations at a symposium on cutaneous laser surgery sponsored by SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill.
New techniques involving the use of hair dye or photodynamic therapy also show promise in helping these difficult to treat patients, said Dr. Dierickx of Harvard Medical School, Boston.
